Socioeconomic Impact of Windfarms

Illustrated by NoRegrets Project

This project examines the socioeconomic trade-offs of offshore wind farm development in the North Sea, exploring how the benefits of renewable energy production, climate mitigation, and economic growth interact with potential impacts on fisheries, marine biodiversity, and coastal livelihoods. By assessing the distribution of costs and benefits across different stakeholders, the research aims to support more equitable and sustainable marine spatial planning and offshore energy transitions. This project is funded by NWO grant NWA.1630.23.016.
